It looks like I’m trying to cover all the topics\u00a0at once. That’s what happens when you go for a long time without talking. You have a lot pent up to say, I guess.<\/p>\n

I’ve been working all day today, really, both doing stuff around the house and doing Work work, but I can’t really point to much that I’ve gotten done.\u00a0You know, it’s that phenomenon\u00a0that is depressing and<\/em> makes you\u00a0crazy at the same time. It also\u00a0makes me think along these lines:<\/p>\n

\"Reading<\/a><\/p>\n

I’m pulling together a post with several\u00a0photos from World Wide Knit in Public Week<\/a> (last week), but I suddenly realized I’m way behind on knitting (yes, ironic) a baby gift. The baby is due on the 4th of July, and I have to deliver the gift to dad at his office, so I had to\u00a0get my knitting hustle on. Fortunately, knitting baby things has the same advantage that sewing baby clothes has: little tiny 4″ long seams. That is, they’re quick*.<\/p>\n

And as for hockey\u2026well, Mike Modano will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame<\/a>, which is a very good thing, even though I’ve never especially been a\u00a0Modano fan. I mean, I like him and all, but there are other players I like more. Still, good for him! He’s been on a bazillion TV and radio shows since the announcement came out (at 2pm yesterday!), including the local news we often watch, WFAA<\/a>. (Their studios, BTW, are adjacent to American Airlines Center, where the Stars play.) The consensus of the women on the set, particularly the producer, is that Mike is\u00a0adorable. Okay, true!<\/p>\n

And the Stars<\/a> began a Best Play of the Season<\/a> thing on their social media, and watching all the videos so I could vote\u00a0made me remember how much fun it is to go to games. (And what a smart use of social media that is!)<\/p>\n

I made my own version of \u00a0for\u00a0dinner last night, and finally took a photo of it. It might have looked a little more appealing if I had put it on a platter, and possibly turned it to the side without the bone, but after smelling it cooking all day, I was lucky to get a shot without a hand in it, grabbing\u00a0bits of meat to stuff in my face. It smells good while it’s cooking, and it’s hard to resist for long when it’s done!<\/p>\n

Finally, I’m now up to novel #17 in the Miss Fisher Mysteries<\/a> series<\/a>. I don’t know what I’m going to do when I’ve finished the last one. Probably have the same sense of mild outrage I had when I caught up with Dick Francis’ prolific output after I discovered his books. “Well, what am I supposed to do now?!?”<\/em><\/p>\n
